Mixing & mixdown
We turn raw tracks into a release-ready balance that still breathes on headphones, car speakers, and modest home setups — with decisions you can explain, not mystery presets.

Mixing at Nobodyluno is for solo artists, bands, and producers who want a mix engineer in Vienna without handing over creative control. Work happens in our Josefstadt control room with tuned monitors, a 32-channel console path, and acoustics that reveal problems early — not only on the sweet spot.
Send finished stems, an exported multitrack session, or material recorded here during vocal recording or music production. You receive a stereo mixdown ready for mastering or self-release. Scope and deadlines are confirmed in writing upfront; budget planning tips live in planning your mix budget.
How it works
Brief
You share the session or stems, tempo, key, and two or three reference tracks. We check naming, clipping, and missing files, then reply within 2 business days.
Balance
First pass: levels, panning, broad EQ, and dynamics per element. Vocals, drums, and bass get a stable foundation before time-consuming effects work.
Detail
Automation, sends, spatial effects, and transitions. You get a preview file or stream link and collect notes — up to 2 revision rounds under our terms and conditions.
Delivery
Final mixdown as WAV (24-bit, project sample rate), optional instrumental or stems on request. Project data kept 24 months, then deleted per our privacy policy.
Who this service fits
Home recordings that sound fine track-by-track but collapse in the full picture are the classic case. So are band projects where everyone mixed on different headphones and no one trusts their ears anymore.
We mix pop, hip-hop, rock, electronic, and songwriter material when source files are technically usable. Heavily clipped or brick-walled exports get flagged early so expectations stay honest — mixing fixes a lot, but not a broken recording.
Producers who want to learn can book self-mix hours at the desk: you ride faders while an engineer coaches gain staging and bus routing. That is not a full mix service, but a practical middle ground if you maintain your own sessions.
What to prepare before upload
Preferably deliver a session or stems without a slamming limiter on the mix bus, clearly labelled tracks, and no muted tracks that still print level. Include BPM, key, and a simple map (intro, verse, chorus). If pitch or time tools are already printed, bounce those tracks as audio — we do not need your plugin licences.
- WAV or AIFF, 24-bit preferred
- Separate vocals, backing vocals, drums (or drum bus), bass, keys, guitars
- References with short notes: “more kick like A, less reverb like B”
- Billing details for the written confirmation
Vague filenames delay the start. If unsure, use contact or call 01 890 4523 — we can send a checklist before you transfer large files.
How work runs in the control room
Most mixing is asynchronous: you do not need to sit through the entire process. For dense projects or a first collaboration, you can book an optional listening session in Vienna and walk through the preview together.
Our 3 rooms feed one pipeline — live room (42 m²) and 2 iso booths export straight into the mix project. Nina Berger and the team focus on making live and programmed parts feel like one performance.
We log major mix choices in the project so revisions stay focused and within the agreed 2 rounds instead of endless back-and-forth.
Delivery formats and mastering
Default delivery is a stereo WAV mixdown; loudness normalisation only on request — streaming targets are usually set during mastering. On request we export instrumentals, TV mixes without lead vocal, or stem bounces for an agreed fee.
Files arrive via secure download; you may also bring drives during Mon–Fri 10–20, Sat 10–16. We retain projects 24 months for fixes or re-exports, then delete them — keep your own backups. Release format questions are covered in mastering formats and delivery.
Pricing and VAT
Listed rates include 20% VAT for consumers in Austria. Business invoices with a valid UID follow the terms; B2B payment term is 14 days.
| Package | Price incl. VAT | Typical scope |
|---|---|---|
| Per song | €180 | One track up to ~5 minutes, standard instrumentation |
| EP bundle | €750 | Five tracks with a coherent sound across the release |
| Self-mix hour | €95 | You mix; engineer supervises and advises |
Unusually dense sessions (many orchestral layers) or very long pieces get a surcharge quoted before work starts — visible in the offer, not hidden on the invoice. A 30% deposit holds the slot; free cancellation up to 7 days before the agreed start.
Revisions and limits
Each song mix includes 2 revision rounds. Bundle notes into one message per round so scheduling stays predictable. Requests that amount to a new creative direction after sign-off are quoted as new work.
Not included: recording new parts, heavy timing editing without prior agreement, mastering, beat production from scratch, or rights clearance. If vocals arrive distorted or buried in noise, we may suggest repair or a short vocal session instead of hours of rescue mixing.

FAQ
Do I need to attend the mix session?
No. Core work is offline. You review previews remotely and send written feedback. In-person listening is optional and should be booked ahead.
Which sample rate do you use?
We keep your project rate when sensible (commonly 44.1 or 48 kHz). Avoid unnecessary conversions before mixing; mastering can set final delivery specs.
How are extra songs priced outside the EP bundle?
Additional tracks are billed at €180 each. The EP bundle covers five titles at €750.
Can you mix from my Logic or Ableton session?
Yes, when plugins and versions match or you print audio stems. If plugins fail to open, we fall back to stem exports — list your effects when you enquire.
How do I start a project?
Submit the contact form with a short brief and approximate file size. Work begins after quote and deposit. Information current as of 15 October 2026.
